XoRG

 

Welcome to the Xavier Ottenwaelder Research Group!

The XoRG is interested in oxidation chemistry, with an emphasis on developing new methods to transfer oxygen and nitrogen groups to unactivated substrates. We mostly use coordination chemistry methods but we are also versed in organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry and physical/spectroscopic techniques.

  • A prestigious award to Joseph!

    Congratulations to Joseph who receive a Lucien Piché scholarship.

  • New lab!

    The lab renovations are done. We expanded our research capability to a state-of-the-art new lab.

  • Student exchange

    The XoRG participates in the ICE (Inorganic Chemistry Exchange) and RISE (Reactive Intermediate Student Exchange) program. We were happy to have Bryony from UVic as an ICE-USRA student over summer 2014.

  • Green Chemistry and Catalysis

    The XoRG is part of the Centre for Green Chemistry and Catalysis (CCVC/CGCC), funded by FQRNT.

  • X-ray crystallography

    Our dual-source single-crystal X-ray diffractometer (CFI funds) is fully operatonal. Please contact Xo if you're interested to use it.
